About the Role
The Cancer Centre Chemotherapy Day Unit provides outpatient chemotherapy and supportive care for patients with cancer. The Cancer Centre upholds strong values of providing person centred care to our patients which incorporates the Values and Health Care Philosophy of the Sisters of Charity.
Provide the highest standard of direct patient care; demonstrate safe administration of cytotoxics and expert cannulation skills.
Provide advice to patients and carers on symptom management through the disease process
Identify psycho-social needs of patients and their families and initiates appropriate referrals
Initiate liaison with other relevant health professionals in the hospital and community to ensure that clinical knowledge and expertise is maintained across the continuum of care
Demonstrate active pursuit of professional development relating to Oncology and Haematology and relevant medical conditions
Classifications for this position will range from YU11 ($102,278.80 per annum) pro rata
Your Contribution
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute Oncology/Haematology nursing
Competency in the safe administration of cytotoxic therapies
Expert cannulation skills
Demonstrate ‘best practice’ clinical nursing skills and knowledge
Demonstrated ability to provide safe care in a multidisciplinary environment
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain

Cancer Centre
The Ambulatory Cancer Care Service provides care to patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapies and supportive care in the outpatient setting.
SVHM Cancer Services comprises the disciplines of Medical Oncology, Hematology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, Geriatric Oncology and Psychosocial Cancer Care. Radiation is provided on site by Genesis Care St Vincent’s.
