Position Summary

This EUX IT Navigator Business Alignment Specialist position will be largely responsible for working directly with the new School of Public Health. The position oversees the management of a portfolio of new business demand requirements, ensuring prioritization and alignment to business strategic objectives along with delivery approaches and technology solutions that result in business value and benefits realization. The role also provides a point of escalation for stakeholders to help build a strong IT-business relationship. The EUX IT Business Alignment Specialist delivers insights and business analysis to support key decisions. May be assigned as a Business Analyst to projects, performing all tasks to achieve an understanding of business change needs, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing and documenting requirements and then supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant parties.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Engaging with Customers

  • Builds and maintains a strong business-IT relationship with a key stakeholders and leaders to enable open communication and clear expectations regarding application development delivery.
  • Engages with customers to understand their needs and ensure prioritization and alignment to business strategic objectives.
  • Acts as a point of escalation on active initiatives.
  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement with Enterprise Applications as well as WashU IT via governance and other methods as necessary.

Planning

  • Prepares business cases working with university partners.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to initiate projects, including resource planning, estimation, governance, approval and kickoff.
  • Ensures business opportunities and objectives are clearly articulated.
  • Performs current state analysis and/or root cause analysis as required.
  • Performs feasibility analysis as required for projects.
  • Establishes project scope and objectives.
  • Coordinates prioritization and planning activities to meet objectives and timelines of overall program or project. 
  • Facilitates coordination to secure funding for successful project execution and delivery.

Analysis, Design, Execution

  • Performs requirements elicitation on large efforts, using techniques per plan.
  • Performs requirements management and communication; apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Provides consulting to all stakeholders regarding requirements management working with Project Management.

Leadership

  • Takes on assignments for very large projects, and others as assigned.
  • Monitors the technical team solution to ensure requirements fulfillment and solution evaluation.

Measurement

  • Provides status reports and health metrics to key business stakeholders on a regular basis.

Salary Range

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
