Our ambition is to ensure our external and internal customers can be autonomous and can easily find, learn about, activate, adopt and operate our products and services.

We are looking for a Squad/ Team Lead to join our Customer Engagement tribe at SWIFT, to lead the Board & Community Engagement squad.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be working as a lead of an agile dynamic team that is responsible for end-to-end delivery of several applications under the purview of board and community engagement portfolio. Our Customer Engagement tribe operates in a truly agile way. As a Squad/ Team Lead, you are accountable for squad leadership as well as the end-to-end execution of the lifecycle of products under the squad. The capabilities enabled by the squad include Sibos and Swift event capabilities, public websites (Swift, ISO etc.) and corporate governance applications. Together with your squad and other teams, you will drive the definition of a vision for the products and squad, the associated roadmap and prioritise the product backlog accordingly. Reporting to the Tribe Lead, you will be a member of the tribe leadership and act as the primary liaison between your squad and its stakeholders, balancing their needs and expectations, in line with the organisation principles and business ambitions.


Ideal candidates will possess a right balance of business acumen, technical proficiency, people leadership skills and customer centric mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of business analyst, product manager and engineers in delivering solutions supporting Board & Community Engagement capabilities.

  • Ensure the development of product vision/roadmap and synchronize it with the Tribe leadership, other squad leads and key stakeholders

  • Responsible for defining the workforce plan for the squad, including the set of necessary competencies in the squad and the capacity

  • Provide ongoing coaching and motivation to squad members to ensure they excel both technically and personally.

  • Set annual objectives for squad members, conduct performance appraisals, and provide constructive feedback to support career development and skills enhancement

  • Facilitate building the squad backlog in terms of user stories, prioritize its items to achieve business goals and continuously keep the backlog up to date

  • Ensure that the applications under the squad’s ownership adheres to the highest quality standards, including releasing security patches not linked to customers

  • Act as an ambassador of your squad towards internal stakeholders as well as the customers

  • Take the lead for your squad and participate in the preparation for agile ceremonies: Quarterly Business Review, Big Room Planning and Objective and Key Result definition to reaffirm priorities and clarify the requirements

  • Interact with other squads with the tribe and across the organisation as part of squad synchronization ceremonies to implement cross-squad tasks and activities

  • Promote a culture of shared knowledge, transversal consistency, and excellence across squads, ensuring that learning and development are ongoing.

Professional skills

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management or related disciplines

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on promoting a diverse and collaborative culture

  • At least 10 years work experience in IT environment with at least years of team leadership experience.

  • Passion for people development and a deep commitment to create a collaborative and inclusive work environment

  • Customer oriented and quality mind-set; we continually strive to deliver customer value

  • Open-minded, solutions oriented, and a team player; gaining energy through collaboration with others

  • Familiar with Agile, DevOps mind-set and practices

  • Experience in working with outsourced development and operations

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
