A Day in the Life

Are you ready to play a key role in shaping employee benefit accounting operations for Diabetes International? The Diabetes business is becoming an independent, publicly traded company, with a clear focus on innovation, operational excellence, and growth in diabetes care. As the Employee Benefit Accounting Lead, you will ensure accurate payroll and other employee benefit accounting processes, compliance, and reporting as we transition to an independent, publicly traded company. This is an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence, support our international workforce, and contribute to the success of a dynamic organization.

This role is based in Heerlen, Netherlands, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work. You will collaborate with global and regional teams, finance leadership, and external partners to ensure employee benefit accounting processes meet regulatory requirements and business needs. Occasional travel may be required

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead employee benefit accounting operations for Diabetes International, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage employee benefit-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll data integrity and timely processing
  • Support the implementation and optimization of employee benefit accounting processes within SAP S/4HANA for TSA (Transition Service Agreement) exit with Medtronic.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and internal policies across multiple geographies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and control in payroll accounting

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in payroll accounting or related roles within a multinational organization
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local statutory requirements
  • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA) and payroll systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead projects and drive process improvements

Experience managing culturally diverse teams and familiarity with shared services environments is a plus. Knowledge of international payroll compliance and integration with HR systems will help you excel in this role, but are not required.
