US Synthetic, a ChampionX company, has an immediate need for a Customer Engineer II located in Orem, UT. The Customer Engineer II is responsible for the assigned customer’s sales and product development. Work closely with customer(s), peers, R&D scientists, process engineers and production personnel. Develop and maintain strong relationships with current customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Assigned to a customer(s) as an account manager
  • Responsible for assigned customer’s sales
  • Drive development of new product lines and improved products for customer(s)
  • Understand and review customer needs, determine requirements, feasibility of efforts, and resources to satisfy needs
  • Interact with customers on engineering designs and questions/problems
  • Communicate voice of customer issues to US Synthetic management team
  • Work closely with peers, research and development scientists, and process engineers
  • Effectively interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/PDC design issues and improvement ideas
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects
  • Prepare and report out on technical data related to products
  • Keep immediate leader advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
  • Build strong relationships with customer(s) and vendors
  • Travel to customer(s) locations as needed
  • Review operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain engineering requirements to develop new markets
  • Follow all company policies (Attendance, No Tobacco Products on Campus, Illegal Drug & Alcohol, Family Medical Leave Act, Personal Appearance, Personal Electronic Devices, Vacation & Personal Time, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent
  • 3 years of post-graduation engineering experience 

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate noise
  • Use of safety equipment (Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, additional PPE where required) while on production floor
  • Sit for at least 8 hours
  • Some standing, walking, and reaching
  • Full range of motion of hands and fingers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or BMS preferred
  • People person, ability to develop quickly, and maintain, strong relationships, Enjoy others company
  • Ability to create and give effective presentations to both small and large groups of people
  • Ability to resolve concerns quickly and effectively
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering related documents
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusion
