As an RN Specialist, you will be responsible for providing and/or assisting with the care of patients receiving cardiac catheter procedures, including admitting patients, and providing pre- and post-procedure care to patients admitted to the POD for various heart, vascular and related procedures. You will have the opportunity to enhance each patients’ experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works 4 days per week from 7:00AM – 5:30PM. No weekends, holidays or call required.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Coordinate patient transfers within the facility and outlying facilities.
Provide patient care during Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, such as left and right heart caths, temporary pacemakers, angioplasties/stent, IABP, etc.
Ensure patient and caregiver safety.
Admit, assess and provide pre- and post- procedure care to patients admitted to POD for various H&V procedures, including patients from Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Function, EP lab, etc.
In the Cardiac Cath Lab: record and monitor arterial pressures, EKG and other vital signs during procedures, assess patients and give medications as ordered by a physician, circulate and scrub in during procedures and prepare rooms and equipment for procedure to be performed.
Complete mandatory education and training to maintain competencies, requirements, certification and/or licensure.
Remain flexible to work in and cross train between other areas in the Heart and Vascular Center.
Support and participate in community wellness programs.
Serve as preceptor for university students in nursing and/or other health sciences.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure in Ohio as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
Ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias
Ability to take call and safely make it to the hospital within 30 minutes once a STEMI has been called
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Critical care and/or Emergency Department nursing experience
Cardiology or Telemetry background
