Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Report Builder with extensive experience in Power BI, Azure Data Fabric, and Databricks, particularly within the Private Equity sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining insightful reports and dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making. Candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, transform data into actionable insights, and support strategic initiatives. 

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $80k - $105k/year & benefits (see below).

  

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI that meet business requirements and enhance stakeholder decision-making.
  • Utilize Azure Data Fabric to manage and integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and governance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to leverage Databricks for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Engage with stakeholders in the Private Equity domain to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance.
  • Maintain and optimize existing reports and dashboards for performance and usability.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies while handling sensitive data.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on report utilization and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in reporting tools and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in report building and data visualization.
  • Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and report optimization techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with Azure Data Fabric for data integration and management.
  • Experience using Databricks for data engineering and analysis.
  • Prior experience in the Private Equity sector or financial services is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in SQL and data modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
