Team Overview

The Data Platform Team is driving the evolution of our enterprise-grade data infrastructure, shifting legacy workloads into a modern, cloud-native ecosystem. We focus on building highly scalable, resilient, batch and real-time data architectures using technologies like Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, and advanced cloud platforms. Operating within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment, our team balances robust data pipeline optimization with modern engineering best practices like containerization and microservices. We are committed to high code quality, continuous learning, and delivering high-utility data solutions that empower the business to make fast, data-driven decisions at scale. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• Build and optimize scalable batch and real-time data pipelines, transitioning legacy workloads to cloud environments under the direction of project leads.
• Collaborate with architects and senior leaders to execute the Data Cloud roadmap, ensuring operational excellence and system reliability.
• Deliver high-quality code within agile teams, actively participating in code reviews and upholding team engineering standards.
• Implement modern engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated pipeline testing, and infrastructure as code.
• Share technical knowledge with team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and data quality.
• Drive execution on technical requirements, ensuring delivery timelines and data quality standards are met.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• 3+ years of software or data engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade data solutions.
• Deep proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance data processing applications. Understanding of micro services architecture and containerization technologies.
• experience in the big data ecosystem, specifically utilizing Hadoop and Apache Spark for large-scale distributed computing.
• Knowledge developing, managing, and optimizing data infrastructure on cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a strong ability to work within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Known for a “get-things-done” mindset—able to break down data tasks, work independently, and deliver high-quality code in fast-paced environments.
