What You Will Do:

The Survey Monitoring Technical Support Engineer role is crucial for providing high-level technical assistance to Trimble distributors, surveyors, field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex survey and monitoring systems, electro/mechanical equipment, as well as, simple and complex IT environments, adjacent sophisticated software, and connected devices that can exchange data with other hardware and software systems over various communication types not limited to cellular, radio, ethernet, and wifi connections.

The candidate will be a key player in addressing issues where distributor and primary product support have not resolved complex monitoring systems, equipment or software problems, or difficulties with custom installation configurations. Additionally, the applicant will contribute to product improvement by reporting enhancement requests related to existing design, reliability, and maintenance issues.
 

This position offers an excellent opportunity for regular engagement in technical problem-solving to ensure consistent reliability of the Monitoring portfolio’s software and hardware capabilities within a variety of surveying and engineering environments.  The hired individual will work closely with a variety of IT, engineering, and survey professionals to gain insights into complex technical systems that will require frequent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with land surveying, GNSS, and geotechnologies

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Trimble Monitoring hardware and software including:

    • Total stations 

    • GNSS receivers

    • Data loggers

    • Geo-technical sensors

    • Trimble 4D Control

    • Trimble Access and Trimble Access Monitoring

    • Trimble Business Center and TBC Monitoring

    • Microsoft SQL Server, Databases, Syntax

    • Intermediate IT and server configuration knowledge
       

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in utilizing technical tools and resources.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. [English, and Spanish and/or Portuguese] 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and customers.

  • Strong customer-centric mindset and dedication to delivering exceptional technical assistance.

  • Bachelor or Advanced degree in a relevant technical field [Required]
