The Power Scheduler Lead (Behind the Meter) is the internal expert responsible for coordinating, scheduling, confirming, and balancing behind the meter power generation and load across distributed customer facilities. This role ensures that generation assets, battery systems, demand response resources, and load forecasts are aligned in real time to meet operational, commercial, and regulatory needs. They will monitor power flows, address deviations, and proactively resolve operational issues with customers, utilities, and grid operators. Customer focus, communication, and continuous improvement are essential for success in this role. Mentors and coaches less experienced schedulers through complex scenarios.

Responsibilities/Expectations: 

  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert and first point of contact for complex behind‑the‑meter (BTM) operational issues, including scheduling, dispatch, and outages
  • Schedules, monitors, and optimizes BTM generation, storage charging/discharging, and demand response to ensure operational alignment and contract compliance
  • Evaluates, resolves, and reconciles daily imbalances between scheduled and actual BTM generation/load, coordinating adjustments with internal operations, pipelines, and stakeholders
  • Independently resolves non‑standard, high‑impact scheduling and imbalance issues, serving as the highest escalation point
  • Analyzes operational data, identifies variances, and implements corrective actions to optimize cost, reliability, and system integrity
  • Acts as a key resource for complex monthly tie‑outs and PPA invoicing issues
  • Mentors and coaches junior schedulers while maintaining strong relationships with pipelines, equipment operators, and customers to support reliable operations
  • Other duties as assigned 

 Education/Years of Experience: 

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Engineering, or Economics and minimum seven (7) years' experience in gas marketing company
  • Preferred: Master's or MBA and minimum seven (7) years' of senior level experience at a gas marketing company 

Other Requirements: 

  • Able to work after hours, weekends, or rotating schedules as operational needs arise (e.g., grid events, outages, weather-driven conditions)
  • Understanding of power market operations, distributed energy resource economics, and basic accounting concepts for power settlement
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable working with energy management systems (EMS), SCADA data, or scheduling software
  • Preferred: ISO/RTO experience
  • Preferred: PowerOptix experience
