Job Description:

We are looking for an Emerging Talent Digital Sourcing Specialist to support our Emerging Talent function to help us pro-actively engage with top student talent in the US.

 

As part of the Candidate Development Team your responsibilities include leveraging sourcing tools to identify potential candidates, sending strategic outreach emails and organizing an effective employee referral system. To be successful in this role, you should combine knowledge of effective sourcing techniques for this talent market, understanding of student motivations and drivers, and  excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

 

Ultimately, you will be responsible for building a strong talent pipeline for our early engagement, summer internship and full-time development programs across Business Technology, General Business, and Data & Analytics. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Overall management of linking sourcing tools, into CRM and Applicant Tracking System and other internal databases 

  • Use social media networks (e.g. Handshake, Ripplematch, LinkedIn) to source and connect with potential candidates across US

  • Leverage marketing collateral, in line with Discover’s EVP, to create communications strategy that attracts and engages diverse pipelines of student talent 

  • Collaborate with the broader Candidate Development and Emerging Talent team to identify each program’s requirements and ideal candidate profile  

  • Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns 

  • Drive student talent behavior using research, market intelligence, generational preference studies, and marketing communication techniques  

  • Develop a network of potential candidates and industry professionals 

  • Consider future hiring needs and proactively source potential hires 

  • Measure and report on recruiting metrics (e.g. source of hire)

  • Use all available resources to make data-driven recommendations and prioritize diversity in sourcing efforts 

  • Research, identify and attract talent to drive passive candidate engagement for a wide range of talent segments 

  • Gather and highlight data to understand trends as they evolve in the environment that may put Discover at a disadvantage when trying to hire top talent e.g. compensation, intern housing, etc

  • Attend external national conferences as appropriate 

  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to ensure Discover remains competitive 

  • Ability to problem solve 

  • Showcase Discover’s values and behaviors in all interactions 

  

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business Administration and Management or related field

  • 4+ years of Experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment required (agency or corporate) and demonstrated experience in core recruiting skills          

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • 6+ years Executive Recruiter or Sourcer, Full-Cycle Corporate Recruiter

  • Experience with full-cycle, multiyear, recruiting process and events  

  • Working knowledge of Gen Z career drivers and preferences  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  

  • Strong social/digital channel marketing and outreach experience  

  • Ability to work independently to develop strategies; but also influence recruiters on how to convert prospects to leads and leads to applicants

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
