As the Sr. IT Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of Alternative Development Center (ADC) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams.  This role includes the management of the full project lifecycle of a large portfolio, with a focus on aligning programs, projects and operations to strategic objectives, and measure, rank and prioritize those programs and projects within the portfolio.  This includes leading project level reviews, optimizing and maintaining project standards, proactively identifying improvement, analytical reporting and management of staff.  This individual will also need to interact with all levels within the organization to identify potential projects that best align with the strategic priorities of the firm.  This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which involves other initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.

This role is hybrid (Tue through Thu on-site) at the UMB Tech Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Develop the execution strategy and on-going management of the partner relationship with ADC/QA teams.
  • Establish operational oversight through the development of IT metrics for Executive scorecards and Board reporting.
  • Develop monthly or appropriate frequency business reviews with strategic solution partners to ensure SLA’s, budget, and scope are achieved successfully.
  • Communicate progress status, concerns, escalations to IT Governance and overall IT leadership.
  • Drive collaborative assessment of resource needs per project intake and approvals with UMB and ADC/QA teams.
  • Resource capacity management and appropriate allocation of the alternate development and quality assurance team resources per project needs.
  • Evolve engagement methodology and overall management oversight to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the alternate development and quality assurance teams.

We’re excited to talk with you if you have:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in information technology, quality assurance, test automation and test plan management, including at least 3 years in managing teams of QA engineers in a blended environment model.
  • You have knowledge and experience in managing project across methodologies.
  • You have demonstrated competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths.
  • You have demonstrated thorough knowledge and related work experience of the project management process and lifecycle including Waterfall and Agile methodology.
  • You have experience in creating and delivering executive level presentations.
  • You have proven consultative, conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills to gain consensus and ensure delivery of initiatives.
  • You have a thorough understanding of information technology and its application to business issues, the use of information technology in a strategic context to an end and is conversant with current technology and trends.  Particular areas of interest for the open position are in Core Banking (Deposits, Lending Systems) and Data Analytics and Operations. 

Bonus Points if:

  • You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • You have experience within the banking or financial services industry.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $99,750.00 - Maximum: $257,250.00
