Director – Service Delivery, Data & Analytics

Role Summary

The Director of Service Delivery – Data & Analytics is a senior, hands-on technical, delivery, and customer-facing leader accountable for the successful execution of Sabre’s Data & Analytics portfolio, including Intelligence Exchange (IX), Revenue Integrity (RI), Prism, TDB, TDS, and Market Intelligence (MI).

This role operates onsite with customers and requires deep engagement with airline stakeholders to understand their business challenges, shape solutions, and actively sell and influence adoption of those solutions. The Director wears a consultative and commercial “sales hat”, partnering closely with customers to recommend, justify, and secure buy-in for solutions—and then leads hands-on execution, including coding and delivery, alongside the team.

The role blends technical credibility, enterprise-scale delivery leadership, and strong customer engagement to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes across complex airline environments.

Key Responsibilities

Customer-Facing Delivery Leadership

  • Act as a trusted, onsite partner to customers, deeply understanding their business problems, operational realities, and success metrics.

  • Lead solution discovery sessions, translate customer needs into technical and analytical solutions, and convince customers that the proposed solution is the right approach.

  • Operate with a solution-selling mindset, articulating value, trade-offs, and ROI to secure customer commitment and adoption.

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle: sell the solution, design it, build it, and execute it with the delivery team.

Service Delivery & Portfolio Ownership

  • Own end-to-end service delivery for the Data & Analytics portfolio across implementations, upgrades, migrations, enhancements, and managed services.

  • Serve as the single accountable delivery leader across regions and customers.

  • Drive delivery planning, execution tracking, risk management, and issue resolution across concurrent initiatives.

Delivery Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Establish strong delivery governance including executive reporting, R/Y/G health tracking, and risk management.

  • Provide portfolio-level visibility into delivery performance, trends, and risks.

  • Ensure delivery decisions are data-driven, transparent, and aligned to business priorities.

Capacity, Demand & Resource Management

  • Own capacity, demand, and utilization planning across delivery teams.

  • Balance contractual commitments, revenue-generating work, and strategic initiatives.

  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and skills development.

Technical & Domain Expertise (Required)

  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Java development, application architecture, and coding in production environments.

  • Experience with cloud-native platforms and containerized microservices (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker).

  • Deep understanding of data platforms, including streaming architectures, Oracle RDBMS, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.

  • Experience delivering enterprise integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, JMS).

  • Ability to personally contribute code and guide teams through complex technical implementations.

  • Familiarity with applied analytics, AI/ML platforms, and workflow-based AI concepts.

Airline Domain Experience

  • Prior airline industry experience is required.

  • Strong understanding of airline data domains including PNR, Ticketing (VCR/EMD), DCS, Flight Operations, and OOSD.

  • Familiarity with airline data feeds and industry standards (e.g., EDIFACT/TTY) is a strong plus.

Leadership & Execution

  • Proven ability to lead and scale global teams of senior engineers and delivery SMEs (20+).

  • Strong ownership mindset for delivery quality, reliability, and operational outcomes.

  • Ability to partner effectively with Product, Architecture, SRE, Sales, and Business stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commercially minded, customer-first approach.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-impact, enterprise environments.

  • Ability to move seamlessly between executive customer conversations, technical design, and hands-on execution.

Why This Role Matters
