Key Responsibilities

FTP Administration

  • Manage and maintain large FTP environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor FTP servers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of FTP services.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols and access controls to safeguard data transferred via FTP.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless FTP operations and resolve any technical issues promptly.
  • Automate FTP account creation, management, and deactivation processes.

Linux Configuration Management

  • Configure and manage Linux systems, ensuring they meet organizational standards and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management processes to ensure consistency and compliance across all Linux environments.
  • Create and manage provisioning and configuration scripts using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Develop regular system reporting to ensure configurations are up-to-date and meet industry secure standards.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline configuration changes and deployments.

Linux Administration

  • Perform day-to-day administration of Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure Linux servers are secure, compliant, and up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Linux systems and processes.

Standardization of Linux Patching

  • Develop and implement standardized patching processes for all Linux systems.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to schedule and deploy patches in a timely manner.
  • Monitor patch compliance and ensure all systems are kept up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates.
  • Automate patch management processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Document patching procedures and ensure they are followed rigorously.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on FTP Administration and Linux Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform & Ansible
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and security best practices, particularly in relation to FTP services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or similar.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
