Meet the Team 

Join Silicon Labs' Corporate Security team as a Product Security Engineer. You'll be instrumental in securing our diverse range of product solutions, with a focus on integrating hardware and software security elements.   

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead penetration testing initiatives across Silicon Labs' product solutions, emphasizing the integration of hardware and software security features.  

  • Perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) focused on semiconductor security features and vulnerabilities. 

  • Drive security improvements and promote secure design principles that integrate hardware and software security components.  

  • Assist and lead trainings for employees, on best practices to strengthen security measures.   

  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions for identified vulnerabilities, emphasizing semiconductor-specific security concerns.  

  • Support Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) activities, particularly those related to semiconductor technologies.  

  • Collaborate with PSIRT to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities specific to semiconductor technologies.  

 

Skills You Will Need 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.  

  • 4+ years of experience with wireless stacks and protocols (e.g., Z-Wave, Zigbee, Wi-Fi), with a strong understanding of their security implications in semiconductor environments.  

  • Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.  

  • Understanding of hardware security principles and their integration with software security measures in semiconductor devices.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and mitigate security risks in semiconductor-based products.  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex security issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

 

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:  

  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) with a focus on semiconductor security.  

  • Experience with ARM or x86 device security and their interaction with product security measures.  

  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines related to semiconductor security.  

  • Background in secure coding practices and code reviews, specifically in the context of semiconductor technologies.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $98,456 - $182,848 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
