About This Opportunity

As an Administration and Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of teaching, placement experiences, and assessments within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. You will work closely with clinical unit teams across a variety of medical disciplines to ensure the smooth coordination and execution of these key activities. In addition, you will assist in advancing Regional Training Hub initiatives and strengthening partnerships within the region, contributing to the overall success and growth of the program.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Schedule and resource teaching and learning activities and assist with updating and distributing teaching materials.

  • Provide administrative support to students, teaching clinicians, and tutors, ensuring compliance with University and program policies.

  • Assist with orientation planning and facilitate communication between course coordinators, clinical educators, and students.

  • Coordinate and administer examinations and assessments, monitor student progress, and support progress review meetings.

  • Maintain accurate records of student assessments in line with University policies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Central Queensland and Wide Bay to advance the Medical Pathway and assist with student recruitment activities.

  • Provide administrative support for Regional Training Hub initiatives and events.


This position is located at Rural Clinical School Bundaberg Regional Clinical Unit and reports to the Supervisor, Administration and Engagement.

About You

Essential

  • Relevant experience and education/training.

  • Demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for the provision of excellent client service.

  • Proven ability to interpret and apply a range of rules, policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgement.

Desirable

  • Relevant experience in a higher education institution or similar environment.

  • Experience in and a commitment to living and working in rural and/or regional Australia.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and mandatory immunisations.
