Inside this world, the Aero Controls NPI Engineer will play a key role supporting & leading new product introduction (NPI) for aero engines & packages. This position focuses on software development, including design, lessons learned application, documentation and validation through simulations and real package & engine testing.

This role is essential for building a strong technical culture, cross-functional engineering approach, emphasizing system expertise, customer focus, quality and continuous improvement. Controls engineering also supports manufacturing and testline during the NPI validation process to strengthen software development for Aero gas turbine controls.

What impact you'll make:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead software development for GT NPI projects, including design, documentation, validation, and commissioning.

  • Write, test, and maintain application code and requirements in Mark VIeSimulink, and other control platforms.

  • Support new control solutions from development through packaged product release.

  • Apply Agile software development methodologies to drive efficient and adaptive project delivery.

  • Develop and support comprehensive test plans, including system verification, validation, FATs, and customer software acceptance testing.

  • Provide technical support for site installations, production, field engineering, and cross-functional teams.

  • Ensure to meet controls cost and schedule targets in collaboration with functional managers.

  • Troubleshoot controls design and performance issues and develop corrective action plans.

  • Ensure technical documentation complies with engineering policies and procedures.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with peers and manager project status.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external organizations to achieve project goals.

  • Analyze and present technical data to support customer and business decisions.

  • Contribute to innovative control system design, process improvement, and team technical growth.

Work Scheme

  • 80% office / 20% travel to GE Vernova & customer sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline plus minimum.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.  

  • Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Proven ability to successfully interact with customers and suppliers.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Passion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions.

  • Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate.

Desired Characteristics

  • 2 years’ experience in related field or Master’s degree in related discipline.

  • Experience/demostrate PLCs knowledge. 

  • Understanding of software development process.

  • Experience on Agile Methodology.

  • Experience providing field support, troubleshooting and software upgrades.

  • Experience developing Human Machine Interface HMI.

  • MarkVIe Control System Experience is desired.

  • Industrial Power generation control experience.

  • Knowledge of communication networks and protocols Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet.

  • AI skills.
