Trainee Practice Assistant

Your role

You'll be a part of our Practice Support team and work closely with legal operatives and Practice Executives to provide administrative and operational assistance across a variety of tasks.

The Trainee Practice Assistant program will run for a period of 12 months and will involve you working in different departments, on a rotational basis, every three months. Through the rotations, you'll get a chance to collaborate with our diverse team of Practice Executives and Lawyers. This exposure will allow you to gain a better understanding of the various legal areas that the firm specialises in and will help you establish valuable connections within the firm.

As a Trainee Practice Assistant, you will:

  • Support Legal operatives, Practice Assistants, and Practice Executives within the firm.
  • Develop administration skills and practice management capabilities under regular supervision.
  • Learn how to utilise firm software programs and technology systems.
  • Provide administrative support including, but not limited to, generating reports, expense management, document amendments and document management (including printing, filing and archiving) with supervision.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to matter financials, including supporting the monthly billing process: drafting and finalising billing narratives, as well as creating and amending bills.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

  • A basic level of skill and accuracy with software including Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organise and prioritise work.
