About the Team

Enterprise Delivery Platform team empowers a smooth last mile delivery of Truck delivery orders placed by customers on Lowes digital as well as store tenants.  We provide solutions for routing the orders for the day, tracking order updates to name a few. We also have a Driver app in the portfolio that enables the drivers in executing the deliveries.

Job Summary

The role requires understanding and translating business needs into data models, creating robust data pipelines, and developing and maintaining data lakes.  It also involves implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in big data tools using cloud technologies , preferably on GCP Stack like Big Query, Cloud Storage,  Dataproc etc, programming languages such as Python ,Scala,  SQL, and have strong analytical skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.

 

This role is for Data Engineering team that works on data needs for the whole enterprise. The group focuses on collection, organization, governance, and access management of data to support productivity, efficiency, and decision-making for the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop state-of-the-art data pipelines and frameworks for ingestion, egression and transformation of data 

  • Create a centralised data lakehouse

  • Use industry best practices to design, build, deploy and maintain the data pipelines and reusable frameworks across the pipelines

  • Design and build systems that ensure flexibility and agility in adapting to changing business needs

  • Build data system and data quality monitoring process and ensure health of the big data system.

  • Work with the stakeholders to enable the reporting & data science needs and develop solutions creatively.

  • Automate, automate, automate – use this aggressively to ensure all manual work is reduced and failure is minimized

  • Provide technical direction, design leadership and expertise to the team. Follow the best in industry devops practices.

  • Stay current with the latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.

  • Publish and update technical architecture and user/process documentation.

  • Review KPIs, ensure the monitoring and alerting mechanisms are in place for a seamless maintenance and support of production systems.

Years of Experience:

7 to 10+ years of Experience in Cloud Data Engineering, data modelling, data lake creation and ETL pipelines

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience in developing frameworks for data ingestions, curations and consumptions patterns.

  • Excellent proficiency in Spark (Python - PySpark), SQL, Scripting (Shell/Python), CI/CD, Git.

  • Has worked on data stack on clud preferably GCP  using BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, GCP DevOps .

  • Strong analytical, data profiling, and problem-solving skills

Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Exposure/Awareness of visualization tools for data reporting such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker etc is an added advantage.
