ABOUT THE JOB

 We are seeking a motivated Development Manager to help lead NAB’s Digital transformation efforts and reach your full potential by developing innovative products with cutting-edge cloud and microservices technologies. As a Development Manager within Enterprise Ops Microservices and Miniapps, you will be accountable for the leadership of one or more engineering scrum teams to plan, deliver and support service features that deliver customer value and/or mature service capability. The position is also accountable for executing the people leader fundamentals in line with NAB Policies, driving a learning-based culture with an ability to set and gain agreement for realistic and stretching objectives for the team.

 

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Management

  • Manage project changes (including but not limited to business requirement, technical solution and/or stack, resources)

  • Ensure mutual understanding among stakeholders.

  • Oversee quality control activities (testing approach/plan, defect control)

  • Participate in PE sessions, release planning and sprint planning.

  • Monitor the build progress and take appropriate actions.

  • Risk & Release Management

  • Agile Coaching, drive continuous improvement among members and teams.

2. People Management

  • Together with Engineer Manager, oversee, provide People Leadership, mentorship and guidance to staff members within the delivery team

  • Mentor and provide leadership on code standards, code quality and practices.

  • Participate in People Management forums, sessions and Leadership meetings, sessions and workshops as required.

  • Work closely with member (1-on-1) to set up goal, and how to achieve goal.

3. Technical Management

  • Provide guidance to the team on technical aspects and guidance on best practice solution designing, coding methodologies and implementation of technology. Influence and make recommendations on coding and environment standards.

  • Liaise with Business Analysts both technical and business based, to develop clearly defined solutions and technical designs.

  • Follow a Quality assurance process to ensure coding standards are met and effective knowledge transfer occurs. Influence the Quality standards and make recommendations 

YOUR SKILL AND EXPERIENCE 

Must have

  • Strong experience in enact Scrum framework and Coach Agile mindset

  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities

  • Excellent in Communication: Verbal & writing, Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving

  • Strong People Development (coaching, mentoring, motivation) and leadership skill

  • A demonstrated technical background

  • Deep understanding of DevOps environments and Micro-Service technologies

  • Ability to understand the essential needs of users and meet these in well-designed programs.

  • Knowledge of one of the major relational database packages such as Oracle 19c RDS, PL/SQL
