Job Description

Reporting to the Americas Operational Excellence Director and working closely with our service line leadership teams, the Operational Optimization Manager will lead key optimization initiatives and processes across our service lines, warehouses, tech shops, and laboratories in the USA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • In partnership with a selected Design Consulting firm, oversee the consolidation and optimization of our new Industrial Site in Houston and other USA-based operational facilities, driving efficiencies in alignment with needs across our operations.
  • Manage relationships and ensure oversight of our external providers (Real Estate, Architects, construction contractors, etc.). This includes frequent touchpoints on progress, coordinating decisions needed from leadership, budget control, and discussions, among others.
  • Working alongside the Service Line Operational leadership team and Regional Business Leaders, devise an implementation and transition plan that ensures minimal operational disruption.
  • Rationalize the space needed and optimize it based on current operational business needs as well as future business plans.
  • Bring an innovative approach to optimizing workflows, operational layouts, and rationalization of consolidated operational space.
  • With input from internal and external stakeholders, and coaching from the PMO, create and deploy a detailed work plan that identifies steps, responsibilities, and actions for move readiness covering all fronts, people, procurement, facilities, safety, and finance.
  • Embed Six Sigma methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, reducing waste and finding design optimization opportunities.
  • Find and action on opportunities to drive operational efficiency across our tech shops, USA laboratory, Land business operations yard, warehouses, and other sites.
  • In line with our PMO best practice guidelines, ensure all project documentation is completed, up to date, and understood by all stakeholders.
  • Strictly follows the MOC process to capture and validate changes before the implementation of any change.
  • Adhere to all Safety standards throughout the project lifecycle and ensure compliance of vendors involved.
  • Leveraging deep financial acumen and with support from our Finance organization, own and manage the budget across all optimization projects, tracking progress and reporting key metrics to senior leadership.
  • In partnership with HR, build a change management action plan and lead key initiatives to support our employees during this transition; track people metrics as needed, and coordinate execution of any HR components related to the project.
  • Frequently communicate to key stakeholders and senior management on updates, challenges, and risks.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • 15+ years of experience across various operational roles across energy, manufacturing, and service companies, with a key focus on process improvement and design optimization
  • Extensive experience leading operational transformation, including the design of large complex operational facilities such as manufacturing, warehouses, laboratories, and services.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles in complex operational optimization projects.
  • Deep and demonstrated financial acumen to drive all aspects of initiatives’ budget and monitor progress against targets.
  • Strong commitment to our Safety Culture and key HSSE principles in specific connection to projects led.
  • Ability to connect various stakeholders across service lines and operations, bringing innovative solutions to complex problems, influencing decisions, and driving necessary action to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data to extract insights and drive decision-making.
  • Strong complex project management experience applied to operational settings.
