POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Apollo Capital Solutions (ACS) team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate to support various aspects of the investment process through a centralized support model. This includes activities related to business strategy, capital markets, and syndication activities. The Associate will also be responsible for ad hoc projects involving business analysis, fee forecasting and tracking, research, market profiling, data analytics, repository/reference data management, pitch materials preparations, investor requests, and presentations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

Provide essential support role in the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of investments across multiple industries.

Business Analysis

  • Track and report fees in alignment with business goals, collaborating with ACS team members and deal teams

  • Perform data analytics on business P&L and tracking of progress  

  • Assist in long-term planning and conduct business reviews

Strategic Partnership Management

  • Manage logistics and operations for key strategic syndication and balance sheet partnerships

  • Establish and support new relationship structures and frameworks

  • Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between internal teams and external partners

Lead Industry Research

  • Lead market and strategy research initiatives affiliated with capital markets

  • Responsible for understanding and producing market data including proprietary pricing comparables and industry trends

  • Collect market information and compile data into usable screens by business leaders

Perform Data Analytics

  • Perform advanced data analytics on capital structures and balance sheets including maturity walls, portco liquidity, credit and capital structure metrics, and trading levels

  • Responsible for ACS data analytics around wallet share, revenue metrics, fee forecasts, bank scorecards, etc.

  • Interface and collect vital counterparty information from business verticals including fees, mandates, wins/losses and relationship trends

Manage Repository and Reference Data

  • Own and maintain central repositories of information and data including external event management and relationship intelligence and mapping

  • Utilize technology tools including DealCloud and Salesforce to maintain and track deal pipelines

  • Coordinate deal allocation and reporting efforts with senior members across ACS

  • Drive internal processes including investor reviews, firmwide reporting pipelines, and ACS-wide communication efforts

Support Documentation Processes

  • Prepare supporting underwriting materials including committee memos and assist in affiliated internal processes around deal execution

  • Support NDA execution and syndicate documentation for external communications

Prepare Internal and External Materials/Presentations

  • Drive the creation and formation of market research and drafting of client materials including general pitch books, potential data requests and investor-specific materials

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a degree in finance, accounting, economics preferred

  • At least 3 years of experience in credit investing, investment banking (Leveraged Finance or Sponsor Coverage backgrounds strongly preferred) or a combination of both.

  • Proven track record of academic and professional success and achievement

  • Strong interest in credit investing and specifically in the private credit and direct lending industries.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must; Strong written and verbal communication skills also required

  • Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Candidate must have the desire and ability to take initiative on tasks and responsibilities

  • Collaborative and able to effectively communicate within lean investment teams as well as able to work independently

  • Team player with a willingness and ability to work across products or geographic lines

  • Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
