 *Note: this role is for a Spring co-op (January to June 2025) or post-graduate internship, based in our Needham, MA office, full-time*

At Shark Robotics, we are obsessed with customer satisfaction and delivering products that make a difference in our customers’ lives every day. We are looking for a passionate software development engineer in test that has SQA Lifecycle experience and who has the mindset of continuous improvement. A great plus if you have experience validating hardware devices. This position will require the engineer to understand and validate products at the “system” level including IOT-connected and non-connected robots, IOS/Android applications.

As a Software Automation Engineer (Co-op) in Test, you will:

  • Review and gain an in-depth understanding of our product requirements and software specifications
  • Write and review automated test scripts to verify and validate our robotic products using REST APIs, Python, Javascript, and Linux shell scripts
  • Develop tools and utilities to extend and improve the automation test framework
  • Develop automation-assisted manual test scripts, followed by knowledge transfer and support to manual test engineers
  • Work in a lab environment
  • Participate in the robot teardowns to assist in the failure analysis process

Requirements:

  • Software programming experience (Python, Java, NodeJS)
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle
  • Attention to detail in everything you do
  • Comfortable expressing a point of view to challenge conventional thinking

Education & Preferred Experience

  • Working towards a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science/Robotics or relevant concentration
  • Experience with microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi a plus
  • Working knowledge of O-Scopes, Digital Multimeters, Tachometers and general lab equipment a plus
