This hybrid role (Tues-Wed-Thurs in office) can be based in Wayne, PA.

This position is for a Site Reliability Engineer in Vanguard's Operations Team.

The goal of this position includes -

  • Modernizing the environments tools and technologies to support the IT strategic goals of continuous delivery and cloud migration.
  • Elevates code into the development, test, and Production environments on schedule. Provides follow up Production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
  • Automating and implementing the build and maintenance of the environments for applications.
  • Continually improving the monitoring, alerting, and automation to increase environments reliability, availability, performance, and overall system health.
  • Support the Digital Customer Expertise Team with an Automation Mindset across the teams.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technological changes around Automation practices / tools at a team level and bring forward to teams as applicable.
  • Thoroughly understand client business functions and technology needs. Have a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems using ThousandEyes, Zscaler, SysTrack, Splunk, Microsoft Power Platform.

What it takes:

  • Knowledge of Linux systems and cloud platforms/providers
  • Scripting experience
  • Hands on experience with several of the following tools: Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence), Git, Maven, Jenkins, Splunk, Selenium, Nexus, Artifactory.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Microsoft 365 environment, with a strong focus on PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong scripting skills using languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, or Bash, for automating routine tasks, system configurations, and deployment processes.
  • Provide technical direction and support to fellow team members.
  • Provide technical support and training to other automation resources.
  • Verify accuracy of monitoring, and reporting data.
  • Prepare reports summarizing information or trends related to automation.
  • Actively support/solve issues for internal customers.
  • Develop and execute performance test scripts specific to the product needs.
  • Perform/lead test execution for both project and support related activities.
  • Design, develop and test scripts/automation modules for production systems using PowerShell.
  • Create and maintain workflows.
  • Create and maintain script documentation.
  • Integrate PowerShell with multiple systems using APIs.
  • Maintain, improve, and add new features to legacy code
