Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering workstreams within large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation programs. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations while driving alignment with business objectives and enterprise standards.

The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, manages vendors and system integrators, and coordinates multiple interdependent workstreams. This role applies McKesson’s project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices to manage risks, ensure transparency, and deliver measurable business value across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation workstreams, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and system integrators to drive execution, accountability, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics in partnership with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Oversee interdependencies across multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and priorities.
  • Track progress, manage budgets, and provide regular status updates to sponsors and governance bodies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues; escalate where necessary to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Coordinate resource planning and capacity management across teams to meet delivery timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise project management frameworks, governance standards, and documentation practices.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, decision-making, and alignment through structured forums and reporting.
  • Leverage dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance and proactively address delivery challenges.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirement:

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills

  • Strong expertise in project and program management, including planning, execution, and governance in complex IT environments.
  • Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementation or ERP transformation programs.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and system integrators in large-scale enterprise initiatives.
  • Strong risk identification, mitigation, and escalation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, scheduling, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Experience applying structured methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models).

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA program experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with large-scale digital transformation or ERP modernization initiatives.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance and compliance frameworks.

Business Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of experience managing IT projects or programs in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex technology initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of IT and business processes, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and within structured enterprise governance frameworks.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $122,100 - $203,500
