We are currently looking for our future Industrial Director for our Stemmann Poland plant located in Katy Wroclawskie. How will you make a difference?

Industrial Director is a senior expert and leader in manufacturing of metal parts and electromechanical products (sliprings and pantographs) as well as in welding and machining technologies. After start-up of the assembly line, Industrial Director will be responsible for the management of day-by-day Industrial activities.

The Industrial Director will be responsible for the management and accountability of all areas of Operations, covering: Manufacturing (Assembly, Machining, Welding, Cutting), Methods & Industrial Project Management / Transfer of Production, Lean, and Maintenance, delivering out on schedule, within quality and safety standards as well as per cost objectives.

What do we want to know from you?

  • At least 10 years in a senior managerial position, with responsibilities in manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, welding) and industrialization, CAPEX projects.

  • Experience in production management and strategic alignment leading critical projects, i.e. planning and implementation of significant investments and relocation of plants and creation of new buildings.

  • Used to work in Global Companies managing complex organization under the challenge of applying lean manufacturing techniques and achieve profitability results in complex projects, production transfers, lean management consulting, etc.

  • Able to create the context necessary to make people as one Team.

  • Experienced in S&OP and lean implementation (green belt).

  • Knowledge of matrix and stakeholder management.

  • Fluent in Polish and English

What will your typical day look like?

  • Develop all the activities ensuring their full compliance to Wabtec HSE standards and deploy Transit OPS policies, standards & tools.

  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

  • Build and propose a budget related to Operations scope as per Corp/Site Director guidelines and objectives.

  • Manage Operations performance (Safety, Quality, Plan attainment, Productivity, Variances) in line with Budget objectives.

  • Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.

  • Support the definition of the Operations CapEx, and ensure their optimization as per what defined at budget level.

  • Manage, deploy the Site Lean Culture transformation (VSM, Kaizen, 3P, 7S,  ..), initiate and coordinate lean projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, etc.) according to Corporate standards.

  • Drive and deploy the Industrial Digitization roadmap.

  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap. Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.

  • Manage the product industrialization as per industrial standards (design for manufacturing, PFMEA, …) to reach safety, quality, cost and lead time objectives.

  • Manage the transfer of production & technology as per approved business case (costs, savings and timeline).
