Your role

Security Engineer is to design, implement and maintain the security infrastructure for RMIT Vietnam. He/ she should hold the technical expertise and background of relevant security solutions, including but not limited to Cloud Security (AWS, Azure), Firewalll, SIEM, Privilege Access Management, Servers Harderning, Vulnerability Management and Remediation for Windows & Linux Operating Systems, Security Monitoring for the whole RMIT IT Infrastructure.
This position serves as a resource to a diverse range of internal stakeholders on security infrastructure related issues and best practices, and will monitor trends in standards and emerging technologies, applying developments as appropriate to ICT related projects, and following RMIT process and procedures.

Reports to: ITS – Security Team Lead

Key Accountabilities

• Design standard solutions to secure the RMIT IT Infrastructure.

• Deploy and maintain the security for RMIT IT Infrastructure, including but not limited to Cloud Security (AWS, Azure), Firewall, SIEM, Privilege Access Management, Servers Hardening, Vulnerability Management and Remediation for Windows & Linux Operating Systems, Security Monitoring for the whole RMIT IT Infrastructure.

• Key contributor to complicated solutions / projects such as: SIEM - System Monitoring, Security on Cloud Infrastructure, Palo Alto Design on AWS Cloud, AWS Control Tower.

• Leading the technical aspects of Security technologies. Acts as primary contact point to discuss and communicate with Security providers: Palo Alto, AWS - specialized in Security Domain, Splunk…

• Evaluate new products to increase efficiency of corporate security infrastructure.

• Advise to Line Manager the relevant technologies aligning with RMIT IT strategies.

• Provide research and implement technology solutions.

• Analyse, troubleshoot and provide systems business solutions to security related issues, with a view to increasing efficiency of corporate security infrastructure.

• Provide inputs / ideas to develop and/or enhance policies, procedures, and systems to support ‘best practice”.

• Continuously updated with current developments in security technologies.

• Analyse and Troubleshoot On Premises and Cloud security related issues.

• Document corporate On Premises and Cloud security infrastructure.

Key Selection Criteria

• A minimum of 2-4 years' experience as a Security Engineer.

• Independence ability to manage the technical aspects in scope with no or limited supervision.

• Experience across the infrastructure security stack to include On Premises Security, Cloud Security (AWS, Azure).

• Experience working with Firewall, SIEM, Privilege Access Management, Servers Hardening.

• Experience within Vulnerability Management and Remediation for Windows & Linux Operating Systems, IT Infrastructure Security Monitoring.

• Experience completing logical and physical design documents.

• Experience with Multi-vendor hardware and software solutions.

• Familiar with milestones, measuring risks, completing cost estimates and operational design documents.

• Working knowledge of automation, monitoring, build/provisioning processes, workload automation and virtualization capacity management concepts.

• An understanding and passion for new relevant technologies with an aptitude in using a range of software applications.

• Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills with a proven record of flexible approach to work.

• Proven record of problem solving and analytical skills to deliver quality outcomes.

• Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT Values.

English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General 6.0 (or equivalent Linguaskill 160).
