SAP Basis team manage and maintain the organization's SAP systems landscape, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. Stay current with the latest SAP features, updates, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. The Basis team works in three areas: Core operations (Run), Project delivery (Grow), Innovation (Transform)

What you will do

The SAP Basis person is responsible for designing, architecting, and optimizing complex SAP landscapes across on-premise. This role provides tech lead for SAP strategy, infrastructure architecture, and performance optimization.

  • Support end-to-end SAP landscapes, including S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, CAR, and SAP BTP, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Lead SAP system sizing, capacity planning, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and performance optimization strategies.
  • Create architecture standards, reference designs, and best practices for SAP Basis and infrastructure teams.
  • Lead SAP cloud migration, cloud readiness assessments, and modernization initiatives.
  • Optimize cloud sizing, cost management, storage design, and backup/restore strategies for SAP workloads.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex SAP infrastructure and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with application teams, cloud engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment between SAP strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Provide architectural guidance for SAP upgrades, migrations, greenfield and brownfield implementations, and cloud transitions.

SAP Platform Engineering

  • Architect automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline SAP provisioning, Monitoring, configuration, and patching.
  •  Integrate DevOps practices into SAP technical operations to enhance reliability and reduce manual intervention.
  • Improve system reliability and reduce manual operations using automated workflows and orchestration tools.

What you will bring

  • 8+ years of SAP Basis and SAP infrastructure experience
  • Expert knowledge of SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, CAR, Solution Manager (ChaRM), SAP LaMa, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP Fiori.
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) for SAP deployments.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, scripting (Shell/Python), and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with infrastructure components: networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage systems, and OS-level administration (Linux/Unix).

  • Strong architectural thinking, systems design capability, and long-term strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, conduct design workshops, and influence technical decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills for complex SAP and infrastructure issues.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
