Overview: Role

Slide behind the bar at our Collective Hill Country and become the mixologist maestro of our guest's journey. You'll be the architect of liquid artistry, crafting drinkable masterpieces that elevate the F&B scene to legendary status. We're scouting for a proactive potion wizard, someone with a knack for organization and a flair for unforgettable first impressions. If you're stirred by the idea of curating exceptional outdoor travel experiences and passionate about pouring your heart into every glass, we want you to shake up our team!

You are naturally proactive, with the ability to anticipate guest and team needs. You are a true multi-tasker, with the ability to handle time-sensitive deadlines, and numerous short-term and long-term tasks in a heavy customer-facing capacity. You are also comfortable and familiar with outdoor working conditions in all-weather scenarios.

Position Details

Seasonal, part-time opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team that manages all things that pertain to the overall guest experience
  • Prepare alcoholic, nonalcoholic beverages, serving food and providing an excellent service experience
  • Responsible for professional behavior, charismatic and positive energy that drives conversation and sales
  • Successfully greet guests, learn and remember their preferences, answer questions, and offer recommendations
  • Upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties
  • Follow steps of service and company guidelines for preparing cocktails and other juices and drinks used at the bar
  • Maintain a clean and organized section as well as collaborate with other bartenders to: wash glassware and utensils after each use, clean up after guests and clean work area
  • Educate guests and members about beverage options from in-house learning and development
  • Discuss and describe daily specials, seasonal menu items and food pairing options to increase sales and promote a unique and memorable dining experience
  • Collect payment on all sold items
  • Check identification of guests to ensure they meet the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol products and determine when the guest has had too much alcohol
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays that promote specific beverage options and can lead to an increase in sales and a better guest experience
  • Maintain a unified beverage program that remains consistent to our guest experience 
  • Serve, clean, clear all food & beverage items will working
  • Support service and culinary operations as needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 1+ years experience in hotel, hospitality or related guest-facing position
  • 2+ years experience as a bartender
  • You should be efficient, observant, and knowledgeable with a passion for craft cocktails, and spirits
  • Ability to manage high volume of requests with competing deadlines
  • Comfortable serving in a heavy customer-facing role for all types of clientele
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Passionate about providing stellar customer service and hospitality
  • Highly organized and dependable, approachable, and empathetic
  • Comfortable working in outdoor settings for extended periods of time
  • TIPS certified 

Requirements for Employment:

  • Fluent in English
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • Must be available to work variable shifts on both weekdays and weekends (24-40 hours/week)
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting, including all-weather conditions (rain, wind, heat, etc.)
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25lbs

Compensation & Perks:

  • Hourly Wage: $21.52 per hour
  • Friends and Family rate at all Collective Retreat location
