The Sr. Sales Training and Development Manager will design, develop, and implement Sales Skills Training Programs. The training is designed and delivered with the specific intent of increasing job capabilities and sales performance. This includes, updating, maintaining and delivering new hire training, managing the sales START team, as well as addressing the ongoing training needs of the entire sales force based on sales goals and needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Trains existing sales representatives, new hires (including Client Success and Large Law), and the sales START representatives.
  • Determines appropriate instructional procedures/methods and develops corresponding curriculum and reference guides utilizing the latest training methodology.
  • Develops effective communication vehicles to ensure training programs are fully understood and appropriately valued by the sales channel and other stakeholders.
  • Conducts needs analysis studies to determine training needs and delivery methods.
  • Ensures an accurate and timely process for delivering training workshops.
  • Continuously works with management to refine training strategy to optimize efficiency and results.
  • Actively tracks sales team progress and monitors the effectiveness of existing training, evaluates projected new curricula and programs to determine overall effectiveness.
  • Identifies and finds solutions to potential training problems which may be systemic to Bloomberg Industry Group.
  • Actively collaborates with stakeholders to effectively coordinate and plan training activities for different groups with the main focus of helping to get “new hires” better aligned with the business objectives during on boarding activities.
  • Effectively leads and manages the sales START representatives and other development programs.
  • Actively contributes to both overall Sales Operations and Bloomberg Industry Group objectives.
  • Maintains knowledge of how Bloomberg Industry Group products and services are used in our industry to better train Bloomberg Industry Group employees to present and position products to meet the customers' needs.  
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to originate a creative and innovative approach to sales training needs, using latest technology and approaches to adult learning.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter, goal oriented, comfortable with a changing environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work as a team member required.
  • Excellent presentation (platform) skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in groups, prepare and give relevant, targeted presentations to large and small audiences, and train clients on how to navigate online services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to utilize effective selling skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, efficient and professional.
  • Demonstrated ability to display confidence in difficult and diverse situations. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially MS Access (tables, queries, reports), MS Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables, formatting), PowerPoint and Word.  
  • Ability to travel within the United States as needed or required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of sales training or sales management experience with demonstrated success in a related environment.
  • At least 5+ years’ successful professional sales experience in a related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience creating training programs preferred.
