Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the applications and providing support to end-users. Your typical day will involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the improvement of application performance and stability. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work-related problems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. - Provide support to end-users and address their queries and concerns. - Monitor application performance and stability, and take proactive measures to improve them. - Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures. - Document and maintain technical documentation for applications. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. - Assist in the implementation of new applications and upgrades. - Conduct training sessions for end-users on application usage and best practices. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM iSeries. - Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and ITIL processes. - Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in enterprise applications. - Knowledge of SQL and database management systems. - Familiarity with programming languages such as RPG, CL, and COBOL. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with IBM AS/400 and RPG IV programming. - Solid grasp of system administration tasks on IBM iSeries. - Experience in performance tuning and optimization of IBM iSeries applications. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in IBM iSeries. - This position is based at our Indore office. - A 15 years full-time education is required. Role Description: Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and design a resolution based on deep product knowledge. Must have Skills: IBM AS /400 Administration Good to Have Skills: a). Should have sound knowledge on OS/400 administration. b) Tools hands on like Service Now, MIMIX, DBMOTO, MPLUS, BRMS etc. c) Certification on AS/400 admin side. Key Responsibility: a) Liaising with the customer technical representatives. b) Implement the changes as applicable, test the changes and handover to customer. c) Troubleshoot issues with OS/Backup. Technical Experience: a) Must have 4+ years of AS/400 system Operations/Administrator experience. b) Server daily health check activities. C) User profile and Security management. D) Job management, job life cycle, OUTQ management etc. e) Backups and other jobs for problem determination and resolution. F) Patch management. g) IBM supported network architecture and configurations - TCP/IP, SNI, SNA etc. h) hands-on experience working on HMC/LPAR Management. i) Restoration and BRMS, Tape management. j) Knowledge on replication software. k) Independently work with vendors on HW/SW issue. L) Analyze disk space utilization and recommend corrective action. m) Participate in Root Cause Analysis RCA. n) Participate in Disaster recovery process. o) Good knowledge on ITIL concepts (Incident, problem & change management skills) Professional Experience: a) Good verbal and written communication skill to connect with customer at varying levels of the organization. b) Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision. c) Flexible to work in 247 environments
