The Role

As a Product Manager (P3) focused on Meta Systems for VALORANT Mobile, you will help shape the out-of-match experience that supports players before, between, and after every tactical fight.

You will work on player-facing systems including, but not limited to, progression, social features, asset display, party-up experience, player identity, and other systems that deepen long-term engagement. Your goal is to ensure VALORANT Mobile does not only feel great in the round, but also gives players meaningful reasons to return, connect, express themselves, and grow over time.

This role requires strong player empathy, structured product thinking, and the ability to translate ambiguous player needs into clear product direction. You will partner closely with Quantum Studio, our co-development partner, as well as Riot VALORANT teams, designers, engineers, publishing stakeholders, and other Riot partners to define feature goals, review implementation quality, and continuously improve the player experience through data, research, and product intuition.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the product direction and execution support for VALORANT Mobile meta systems, including progression, social, party-up, asset display, player identity, and other out-of-match player experiences.
  • Partner closely with Quantum Studio to define product goals, feature requirements, user flows, experience principles, and acceptance criteria for new and existing meta system features.
  • Review and refine Quantum Studio’s feature implementation throughout the development cycle, ensuring the final player experience is intuitive, polished, and aligned with VALORANT’s product quality bar.
  • Use player behavior data, research insights, competitive references, and product intuition to identify opportunities that improve engagement, retention, social connection, and long-term player motivation.
  • Collaborate with Riot VALORANT teams, publishing stakeholders, and other product owners to ensure meta system direction aligns with broader VALORANT product principles, version planning, live operations, and player needs.
  • Support the planning and prioritization of meta system improvements across patches, balancing player impact, development cost, business goals, and delivery timelines.
  • Act as the voice of VALORANT Mobile players in the meta system space, ensuring features serve both core tactical shooter players and broader mobile audiences.
  • Monitor post-launch feature performance and player feedback, then build actionable optimization plans with Quantum Studio and relevant Riot stakeholders for future iterations.
  • Contribute to cross-functional discussions on how meta systems connect with gameplay, monetization, content, social, and live service strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, game operations, system design, or live service games, preferably with experience in mobile games.
  • Experience owning or supporting player-facing systems such as progression, social, party, profile, collection, achievement, mission, onboarding, or other engagement-related systems.
  • Strong product judgment and player empathy, with the ability to identify player needs and translate them into clear product requirements and experience improvements.
  • Ability to work through moderately complex product problems, evaluate trade-offs, and propose practical solutions within defined constraints.
  • Strong data literacy, with experience using engagement, retention, funnel, social, or feature usage data to evaluate product performance and guide iteration.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with experience working closely with design, engineering, publishing, analytics, research, or external development partners.
  • Experience working in a co-development or distributed team environment, including aligning stakeholders across different teams, cultures, or regions.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep passion for competitive multiplayer games, tactical shooters, or mobile live service games.
  • Experience working on meta systems for a major live service title, especially systems related to progression, social connection, player identity, or long-term engagement.
  • Strong understanding of mobile player behavior and how meta systems support retention, session motivation, social play, and content discovery.
  • Familiarity with VALORANT, its player motivations, competitive ecosystem, cosmetics culture, and overall product identity.
  • Experience using player research, community feedback, and market references to shape product direction.
  • Experience working with co-development partners, external studios, or large-scale distributed development teams on feature delivery and quality review.

基本要求

  • 拥有 5 年以上产品管理、游戏运营、系统设计或长线运营游戏相关经验,有移动游戏经验者优先。
  • 曾负责或参与过玩家体验系统,例如成长、社交、组队、个人资料、收藏、成就、任务、新手引导或其他与玩家参与度相关的系统。
  • 具备良好的产品判断力和玩家同理心,能够识别玩家需求,并将其转化为清晰的产品需求和体验优化方案。
  • 能够处理具有一定复杂度的产品问题,评估不同方案的取舍,并在明确约束下提出务实可行的解决方案。
  • 具备良好的数据理解能力,能够使用参与度、留存、转化漏斗、社交行为或功能使用数据来评估产品表现并指导后续迭代。
