The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the gross to net revenue accounting related to sales reserves and associated profit and loss impact. The position will also assist in administering various customer rebates and ensuring corresponding accruals are accurately maintained.

Essential Duties

  • Analysis of complex gross to net revenue reserves for reasonableness.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations with appropriate supporting backup.
  • Monthly report preparation of gross to net revenue and analysis of changes.
  • Analysis and development of rates for revenue reserve accruals for actual and planning.
  • In depth understanding of accounting system and business processes.
  • Development and execution of internal controls.
  • Audit support, as needed, on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Understand how rebates are set and operate, working closely with Contracts Team.
  • Review credit memo preparation for accuracy.
  • Calculate quarterly profit share and/or royalty payments and prepare statements for partners
  • Review rebate balances to ensure credits have been issued timely and accruals are adjusted.
  • Respond to customer and commercial inquiries.
  • Identify continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required, a degree in accounting is strongly preferred. A minimum of two years of accounting experience is required to include a good understanding of reserve liability accounting. Public accounting experience is a plus. CPA or CMA or equivalent would be a plus.

A solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Excellent Excel and data manipulation skills with desire to continue learning. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines required. Ability to offer solutions to emerging problems.
