Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Product Development Specialist, who will support the projects of DFFS (Design Function Film Solution) platform from Automotive Lab, which would be covered to polymer base film with PSA material technology, and the types of film product will be used for automotive blackout decoration, exterior and interior trim applications. Meanwhile, the people hired should be with good understanding relevant products & technologies application on automotive industry. The person hired for this position will have responsibility to new product development and commercialization, refine critical manufacturing processes with expectations of performance, quality, and cost.  This position requires an individual with strong professional background, cross function collaboration, and leadership skills, who is a good decision maker with the ability to collect facts and facilitate good projects decisions.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Leading new film products development and commercialization, critical manufacturing process improvement, and/or introduce new film technologies to the automotive market.
• Prototyping and making unique products with strong value proposition using 3M technology, customer and market understanding, competitive product knowledge.
• Creating intellectual property and strategy to establish a sustainable competitive advantage.
• Working with cross function local/global teams for knowledge and technology sharing, developing strong working partnerships/networks internal the 3M automotive organization (China & Global), 3M Corporate Labs and other external groups
• Supporting Manufacturing process change management

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or above from an accredited university in Polymer Material Science and Technology
• 5yrs of polymer material formulating or manufacturing process experiences
• Experience of PVC, PU, PP base film with PSA products development should be a plus
• Experience of film product development /application in automotive industry should be a plus
• Proactively communicating project direction and status to appropriate personnel, teamwork Spirit

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in new product development process (NPI) and Change Management Process (CMP)
