As a Nursing Operations Manager, you will serve as the agent responsible for any circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution or referral. You will also provide leadership and support to nursing caregivers and be a clinical resource.


The ideal future caregiver is someone who: 

  • Has experience in nursing supervision or leadership.  

  • Has experience in an emergency department or critical care setting.  

  • Can work independently without direct oversight.  

  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to escalate issues appropriately.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Administration on-site and responsible agent for any circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution, or referral.
  • Initiates, prioritizes, and resolves situations that impact patient care delivery, the safety of patients, visitors, and employees through collaboration with departments.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to insure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
  • Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget.
  • Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to insure compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • BSN from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal skills required, including conflict resolution, communication and leadership; computer skills preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Acute Care; at least 1 year in a management role preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

The individual in this role will be supporting North, Tradition and South Hospitals as needed.
