Mold Masters is looking for a Machine Designer to join our E-Multi team in Georgetown, Ontario. As a Machine Designer, you will be responsible for complete design execution of high quality, high performance, reliable and cost-effective designs for e-multi products and motion control-related products.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and innovative self-starter to be part of our growing E-Multi auxiliary injection unit team. You will lead projects through the full product development life cycle from brainstorming sessions, detailed design and analysis, prototype build and testing and product launch. You’ll be part of a fast-paced growing business producing world-class, sophisticated industrial machines for a global market.

Work You’ll Do:

  • Execute design tasks independently, adhering to high-quality design standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide system-level design solutions

  • Develop concept layouts, part models, and drawings for cost-effective and reliable designs

  • Generate accurate assembly drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for release to SAP

  • Produce design documents, validation plans, and test reports

  • Assemble and test prototype models

  • Actively participate in design review processes, risk assessments, and Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) processes

  • Review existing patent documents and drawings, and assist in patent application processes

  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives and productivity enhancements

  • Assist the Sales team by evaluating technical inquiries and proposing innovative, feasible solutions.

Team:

This role will be a part of a group of five on the growing E-Multi auxiliary injection unit team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, and eligibility for P.Eng

  • Prior experience in the role of a Machine Designer is required

  • Proficient in modeling and detailing techniques, specifically with SolidWorks 2023 or later versions

  • Comprehensive understanding of ASME Y14.5M drafting standards, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack-up analysis

  • Competent in performing design calculations and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in various manufacturing practices such as machining, fabrication, casting, and sheet metal

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities

  • Strong sense of responsibility and meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain focus on overall objectives and task completion, with a keen eye for detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with SAP

  • Current practical knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS is highly desirable
