Quality Engineer
Our Round Rock, TX business unit is growing! We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team. Under general supervision of the Lead Quality Engineer, you will provide quality-assurance support to the aerospace product line to ensure customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow.
Location: Round Rock, TX
Your Challenge:
Assist Lead Quality Engineer and Director of Quality on the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Conduct first article inspections per AS9102
Perform root cause analysis
Disposition of non-conforming material
Resolve customer issues related to quality
Process and Product Monitoring
Participate in and lead internal and external audits
Monitor supplier performance
Perform annual evaluations of suppliers
Train/mentor associates on quality awareness
Prepare certification documentation
Review customer contracts/specifications, design documents, purchase orders, and other documents to ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met
Up to 5-10% travel (domestic and international)
What You Bring:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or other Technical Field with at least four (4) years Aerospace Quality experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered)
Experience with Quality and Aerospace industry standards (ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, etc.)
Able to plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems
Experience with investigating quality issues in a methodical manner ultimately resulting in a report that identifies containment, root cause, and corrective and preventative actions
Have basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting
Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills for reporting and briefing Customers and Senior Leadership
Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
Lives the “continuous improvement” philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts.
Certification to ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus
Have an understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up
Able to develop and implement quality systems
Able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements
