The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 12-month renewable contract at the Office for Research.

Project Title: Data and Theory Driven Artificial Intelligence to Boost the Science of Learning

Project Introduction: This project will leverage on big data generated from online education platform approaches to build Science of Learning for effective education. The project will focus on: (1) literature review of current trends and findings for the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education, (2) implementing experimental studies for teaching and learning in mathematics in primary schools, (3) publication of research findings for different stakeholders including researchers, policymakers, and teachers.

Requirements

• Master degree preferably in Education or related fields, preferably with a focus on Mathematics and/or Mathematics Education.

• Experience with teaching Mathematics, preferably at a Primary School level
• Expertise in experimental design and quantitative data analysis.
• Able to structure and manage tasks based on given goals and objectives
• Candidates with social sciences research experience will be preferred
• Candidates with experience/ interest in Artificial Intelligence in Education will be preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement data collection
• Conduct data analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
• Conduct literature search and review focused on but not limited to the topics of learning theories, Math Education and Artificial Intelligence in Education
• Contribute to research publications and presentations
• Ad hoc research project administrative support
• Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator
