The ideal candidate is a proven people leader with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and mentor others. They bring an advanced understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, government regulations, and end-to-end workflows. This individual drives change by creating, sustaining, and continuously improving standards and procedures, while evaluating alternative courses of action and balancing risk/reward implications for programs or areas of influence. They also assess multiple data points to identify performance trends across the organization and support informed decision-making.

This position will be based full-time on-site in Linthicum, MD near the Baltimore area.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Establishes and implements a proactive sector Quality Management System (QMS) compliance framework

  • Assures the QMS complies with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures

  • Fully implement the compliance program to ensure audit readiness at all times

  • Maintains applicable compliance records and provides reports in accordance with various regulatory requirements

  • Leverage data to identify trends, drive prioritization, and inform leadership decisions

  • Provides independent guidance and direction with respect to the interpretation of regulatory standards

  • Monitor compliance performance, escalate systemic risks, and drive preventative actions

  • Leads and participates in company and sector assessments and internal audits

  • Oversees organizational metrics supporting corporate and sector executive leadership reporting

  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant and sensitive matters

  • Exercises good judgment, seeking leadership support and guidance, including collaborating on decisions that have high visibility or impact potential

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality professionals across multiple sites

  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 3 years of relevant experience

  • 5 years of demonstrated team leadership / formal engineering or operations leadership experience and / or significant technical projects or investigations

  • Experience leading audits (internal, customer, and regulatory)

  • Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes

  • Experience with risk and opportunity management processes and incorporation into financial EACs

  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

  • U.S Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Lean Six Sigma certification

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industry

  • Experience with APQP and PPAP

  • Experience in the design and development of a quality management system or the establishment of a quality management system at new sites

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,300.00 - $228,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
