PMO Lead

  

Location: Nijmegen, The Netherlands - Fully Onsite

Department: Project Management Office (PMO)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

  

Role Overview

 We are seeking a highly organized and proactive PMO Project Manager to establish and strengthen project governance, drive execution discipline, and ensure effective resource and stakeholder management across a complex matrix organization. This role will play a key part in enhancing delivery standards, visibility, and accountability within the PMO.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Structure

  • Set up and maintain a robust PMO governance framework aligned with organizational strategy
  • Define and implement project management standards, templates, tools, and reporting structures
  • Establish steering committees, stage gates, and escalation pathways
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements

Project Oversight & Reporting 

  • Follow up on project status updates across portfolios
  • Track progress against milestones, budgets, risks, and KPIs
  • Consolidate reporting for senior leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation

 Resource Management 

  • Oversee resource planning and allocation across multiple projects
  • Monitor capacity, utilization, and skills alignment
  • Collaborate with functional managers to optimize resource deployment
  • Support workforce forecasting and demand planning

Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Engage and align cross-functional stakeholders
  • Facilitate governance forums and executive review meetings
  • Communicate project updates clearly and effectively at all organizational levels
  • Build strong relationships within a matrix environment

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree (e.g. Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering)
  • FPX Certification (or equivalent project governance certification)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Proven experience within a PMO or enterprise project management environment
  • Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrix organization
  • Fluency in English language required. Knowledge of Dutch preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 64.000 EUR to 103.040 EUR on an annual basis and includes 8% holiday allowance.

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
