Role purpose

The key purpose of the Maintenance Officer is to work closely with the Operations Manager(s) to maintain the general up-keep of the centre(s) and to ensure a safe environment for retailers, customers and the general public whilst maintaining the highest level of stakeholder engagement.

The Maintenance Officer will undertake any tasks as required via centre request or Vicinity maintenance system that they have the capability to perform safely in accordance with Vicinity policies and legislative requirements. This would include but would not be limited to:
• Repair and maintenance of internal and external structures, carparks, signage, road works and gates
• Maintaining maintenance and servicing of retailer facilities within centre including staff toilets & loading docks
• Maintenance and presentation of centre malls & public facilities
• Ensuring centre lighting maintained internal & external
• Assist with Centre minor capital expenditure program

For more substantial works, the Maintenance Officer will ensure that suitably qualified contractors are engaged to carry out any maintenance and repairs.
The Maintenance Officer will consistently and effectively:
• Actively promotes OHS within the workplace
• Ensure customer and retailer safety
• Ensure quality of work completed and time effectiveness of work
• Ensure maintenance costs are within budgeted levels
• Provide input into continuous improvement of relevant procedures & policies

What will you bring?

You will have a previous experience in general maintenance tasks coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. You will have a sound knowledge of Health & Safety and have had previous experience coordinating contractors within a maintenance environment. You are known for your responsiveness and efficiency to all maintenance activities and your positive attitude, which allows you to play a critical role in enhancing our customer experience.
