Course: Interface Design 1: User Experience

This course explores the fundamentals of User Experience as it applies to mobile applications through the use of prototyping and user testing. The historical context of User Experience is explored and as well as how it evolved into modern application design. During this course, students apply the Laws of UX to their designs. Various usability testing methods are implemented. 

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in web design, UX/UI design, graphic design, or other related discipline.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and 3 or more years’ experience in the design industry.
  • Skills in the layout and composition, color theory, typographic hierarchy, User Experience and User Interface Design are required. Industry-level skill in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. Job titles that fit the criteria: Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, Web Designer.
