Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager Security is a member of the Security leadership team.  The incumbent is responsible for managing the scheduling and shift deployment processes for the convention center.  Additionally, the incumbent will manage several security programs and participate on special projects and initiatives.

Essential Functions: 
1.    Determine and assist with all components of appropriate staffing levels for events.  includes internal and contract security duties. Assist Security Manager with approving security plans and ensuring staffing is executed according to plans.     
2.    Manage equipment and uniform inventories for the security department. Including radios, flashlights, and needed day to day required equipment.  Refresh of safety equipment inventory and Floor Warden program management.       
3.    Assist with Managing the CCTV and access control programs as well as additional access control /hard key – re-key assignments. Also assist with incident management programs usage and training.  Oversee and keep track of reports and submit to Security Management
4.    Assist with administering emergency guidelines, procedures and training for employees, guests and clients. Participates in the development of security training materials for all employees.
5.    Participates in the selection and hiring process for security personnel.     
6.    Manages and approves time off requests request based on business need and communicates approvals and/or denials.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1.    A minimum education level of:    High School Diploma or its equivalency (Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree Preferred)
2.    A minimum of 3 - 5 years related work experience
3.    BSIS Guard Card certification
4.    Ability to implement and adhere to the Security Department’s Prime Directives
5.    Knowledge of CCTV, computerized access control systems, and wireless radio communication
6.    Ability to communicate in a professional manner, verbally and in written form.
7.    Ability to organize and file to achieve a high level of success within the Department.
8.    Ability to represent AEG and the Security Department in an exemplary manner.
9.    Ability to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff and lead by example.  Supervise effectively, fairly and efficiently.
10.    Ability to adapt and work effectively in various parts of the facility.
11.    The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts, and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
12.    Ability to maintain patron, employee and company confidentiality.
13.    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
14.    Must be able to read, write and understand English in a working environment.
15.    Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
16.    Prior experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and/or supervising teams is preferred

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
1.    Law enforcement experience
2.    Military experience
3.    Certified Protection Professional CPP or Physical Security Professional (PSP)
4.    ADOBE experience
5.    Working knowledge of Ungerboek

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to large public/private gatherings indoors/outdoors. Employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in certain situations. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in office setting and moderate to high during events.

Pay Rate: $70,000 - $80,000 Annual Salaried/Exempt.
