Prologis is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (AR/AP) to join our Accounting team in Amsterdam. In this dynamic and demanding role, you will support our accounting operations, collaborating closely with various departments to understand their needs, deliver accurate financial data, and ensure compliance with internal policies.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable:
- Analyse, allocate, and reconcile the Cash in Transit AR account.
- Reconcile AR-related balance sheet accounts.
- Lead monthly bad debt review meetings with the RECX and Finance Managers.
- Calculate and record monthly bad debt accruals.
- Analyse, comment on, and report AR aging.
- Support annual audits.
- Record statutory adjustments.
- Review and correct month-end closing entries.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor the cash allocation robot and process unallocated receipts.
Accounts Payable:
- Coordinate, review & control Travel & Expense activities
- Allocate invoices with unrecognised suppliers to the appropriate team
- Coordinate, run & control pay cycles and respond to payment and overdue invoice related queries
- Review & allocate ServiceNow tickets to the appropriate teams
- Review and resolve non-clearing items from AP clearing suspense accounts, booking corrective entries where necessary
- Responsible for vendor master data, check new vendor registrations and assist the business with the vendor onboarding process
- Provide requested documentation, conduct investigations and answer questions related to internal and external audits
- Maintain existing and prepare new documentation to support AP processes and employee onboarding
- Design, maintain and deliver various reporting, ensuring it’s continued relevance to stakeholders
- Control and perform ERP (Peoplesoft) processes to support the AP department in the efficient performance of their duties.
- Assist the AP processing team to book invoices in periods of high workload
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an international finance or accounting role.
- Motivated, positive, and proactive attitude.
- Strong analytical mindset: ability to dissect, document, and explain the “why.”
- Advanced spreadsheet (Excel) skills
- Strong interest or experience in coding and data analytics; ability to leverage technology for process improvement.
- Familiarity with AI tools and platforms (experience with ChatGPT or similar generative AI solutions is a strong plus).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Collaborative team player.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage).
