The Lidar department of the Valeo R&D Center in Prague is developing the flagship among our sensors: the Valeo SCALA® lidar is the first and still the only mass-produced automotive laser sensor on the market. It can detect obstacles on the road up to a distance of 200 meters and classify them in all weather conditions. It is used by carmakers for their most advanced models such as the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 or Honda Legend. Up to 30% of new premium vehicles are to reach level 3 of autonomous driving by 2030, and to do so, they will have to be equipped with lidar technology. We develop hardware, software, optics, mechanical construction, execute system testing and industrialization of this product.

Currently we are looking for an Algorithms Technical Project Manager who will be responsible for driving a team of several system engineers (function/product owners) who work on development and deliveries of our Laser Scanner algorithms/functions.

YOUR CHALLENGES?

• Ensures smooth communication between the R&D Team and customer with regards to LIDAR algorithmic functions. 
• Breaks down the customer-required functionality using a functional decomposition into tasks for individual System/Algorithm engineers.
• Drives the requirement management process for the customer project and ensures that Customer requirements are mapped to correct Features.
• Establishes and monitors a R&D schedule aligned with the customer, Valeo milestones and the R&D Team.
• Defines the content of Releases (internal and to the customer) and drives the release process.
• Ensures smooth communication in the R&D team for the given project.
• Handles issues raised during the project R&D phase.
• Owns the change management process. Manages the implementation of the change following the decision of the CCB.
• Includes Functional Safety aspects in all R&D activities according to the safety plan.

LET´S TALK ABOUT YOU…

• Finished university-level education in the area of Cybernetics, Control Engineering, Robotics, Electronic Engineering, System Engineering or similar field
• Experience with any software development process
• Good level of English to communicate within international teams
• Proactive, detail-oriented engineering attitude and team spirit

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL WOULD BE:

• Experience with formal (quality-controlled) product development process
• Knowledge/experience with algorithm programming skills (any of MATLAB, Python, C/C++)
• Understanding/experience with the area of control theory, tracking, segmentation or similar
