Now, the Neurological Institute is expanding with a new state-of-the-art facility which will include additional operating rooms and ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG and sleep and brain study services. The Clinical Engineering Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant operation of medical technology. You will oversee all Neuro diagnostic equipment. This leadership position oversees daily operations, staff development, equipment lifecycle management, and project execution, contributing directly to the Clinic’s mission of delivering world-class patient care through innovation and  
operational excellence. 
 

A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with on-call requirements as needed.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform staff performance evaluations and training activities and assists with capacity planning for staff and contract labor. 

  • Ensure that equipment is maintained, secured, renovated, and deployed according to departmental/organizational policies, procedures, plans and initiatives. 

  • Assist with the development of and compliance with the departmental budgets, including capital, operating and construction budgets. 

  • Maintain knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements and ensure departmental compliance. 

  • Lead projects and initiatives within the work group. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field 

  • 5 years of clinical engineering /medical device experience inclusive of 2 years of experience in a clinical engineering work leader and/or leadership role 

  • OR Associates degree and 7 years related experience including 2 years leadership experience 

  • OR Equivalent specialized or military training and 10 years related experience including 2 years leadership experience. 

  • Must include extensive experience in assigned areas of specialization and leadership experience. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)  

  • Additional specialization (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, logistics) preferred depending on assigned area   

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.

  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.

  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.

  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
