Job Description:

Role title:  Registered Nurse (Year 1 - 8)

Role type:  Max term contract part time (24 hours per week, until June 2026)

Department and location:  Xavier 7 North, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary:  $74,317.94 - $104,336.27 (pro-rata) + super

About the role

  • Xavier 7 North is an acute Medical and Surgical unit, with a 6 bed Acute Stroke Unit, providing care for patients admitted under the specialties of Neurology, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine.

  • Services and the skill set of nurses include Parkinson device assisted therapy, tracheostomy's, Spinal and Craniotomy surgical care and Lumbar and External ventricular drains.

  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals, families and communities.

  • Leadership role in the coordination of nursing and health care within and across different care contexts to facilitate optimal health outcomes. This includes appropriate referral to, and consultation with, other relevant health professionals, service providers, community and support services.

  • Practices independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to enrolled nurses and health care workers.

About you

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice.

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
