About the Unit

In a fast-paced environment, under direct supervision, detailed oriented individuals are responsible for the cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation and equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and clinical procedures in accordance with the product company’s manufacture Instructions, AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, and FDA guidelines. Case cart preparation and distribution of OR and clinical procedure instruments and supplies entered in a tracking data bases prior to delivery. Utilizing critical thinking to provide solutions to arising issues and concerns to maintain patient safety.

Scope of work 

Under direct supervision, provides centralized support according to AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses), AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), CDC (Center for Disease Control), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Administration), and department policy in the areas of Terminal Sterilization and Sterilization Monitoring systems, Decontamination and Disinfection, Preparation of surgical instrument trays, Case cart build and distribution, and Instrument to Patient Tracking Data Base.

Range of Pay

  • Pay starting at $17.20
  • Range of pay between $17.20 and $21.82, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent Required

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Required within 12 months)

  • Previous experience Preferred
