We are seeking a talented individual to join our Real Estate team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in New York City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

Mercer has a unique and privileged market position in Real Estate Investment and Advisory .We are an LP, investing between $1-2bn annually in global Real Estate funds, direct co-investments, and secondary transactions. We are a GP, managing commingled investment strategies for a range of clients and client segments globally, on both a Mercer branded and client white label basis. We are an influential advisor to many of the largest global asset owners across pensions, insurance and wealth, and run bespoke Real Estate mandates for many of them. We are a partner to asset managers globally, representing over [$25bn] of capital on a proprietary and advised based, and often will be the first call for investment managers on new strategies and ideas. We build this on our [22] years of history of researching and investing in the growth of Real Estate as an asset class, delivering with a key focus on client partnership and portfolio performance.

We will count on you to:
Platform Leadership & Global Investment Committee Member
The Head of North American RE will be a member of the Real Assets leadership team, will sit on the global RE investment committee, and will join our client portfolio construction groups for real estate.
Portfolio Management: Strategies in Focus
The Head of North American Real Estate will be the key point person for current and future investment strategies and managers focused on North America as an investment destination, and in developing custom strategies for our North American clients.
Examples of this include delivering portfolio management for $1bn+ of Real Estate assets at SECOR Asset Management and integrating these into the Mercer system and process, in leading co-investment mandates and advisory work US public pensions and portfolio management and monitoring of the US Real Estate strategy for Mercer’s flagship Private Investment Partners strategy, including the upcoming launch of Infrastructure Vintage 9 as well as our US Core Funds and Global Strategies investing in US funds.
Manager Coverage & Research
This role will have accountable coverage of some of the largest Real Estate Investment managers operating in North America and globally, including representing Mercer on a number of LPAC seats.
This role will oversee our Real Estate Fund Research and Ratings process in North America and contribute as a voting member of our global Research and Ratings process.
Co-investments & Secondaries
Working in partnership with our asset management partners and Mercer’s Global and North American investment teams, this person will be responsible for sourcing, diligence and monitoring approximately 5-10 co-investments annually.
Working closely with Mercer’s dedicated secondaries team, this person will help to source and diligence 5-10 secondaries annually over time.
North America. Team Leadership
This role will lead a team of 5-8 people in Canada and the USA and will work closely with a global Real Estate and Real Assets Team
Business Development
Working closely with Mercer’s client, commercial and OCIO teams, the Head of North American RE will be a central figure in our growth strategy including expanding both client and segment relationships.
Will support related social impact and natural capital capabilities development as part of the Real Assets platform leadership.

Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $360,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
