ViiV Business Operation Director

The Business Operations Director reports to the VP, General Manager Spain & Portugal and is a member of the Spain & Portugal HUB Leadership Team. Your mission will be to lead and coordinate the company's operational activities both internally and externally, as well as to establish monitoring and management of execution and performance across all departments serving as business strategy lead for the HUB.

As our Business Operations Director you will collaborate closely with internal partners (sales, marketing, medical, market access and government affairs, and compliance) to strengthen structure and discipline in process execution and data driven decision making. You will also work with the GM to implement governance, including the planning/prioritization of strategic imperatives and their execution, as well as the coordination of internal meetings such as leadership team meetings and business reviews.

You will also manage a team, currently tasked with implementing a continuous improvement program for cross-functional operations across the departments (process excellence, insights & analytics, and national congresses and events)

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Performance Excellence

  • Strengthen the company's operational excellence by working closely with department heads (marketing, sales, medical, market access & government affairs, and compliance) to ensure proper management and implementation of all our internal and external procedures, enabling agile, fast, and competitive execution of our activities; develop clear metrics and performance indicators to track the company’s progress in this area.

  • Lead the implementation of performance insights and execution monitoring within the organization, in collaboration with the EU and Global teams by leading the local Insights and Analytics team.

  • Support the customer experience and internal efficiencies around customer events and activities via continuous process improvements. Coordinate cross-functional activities, plan activities in project management mode, and coordinate functions via process excellence team. Maximize impact on our clients.

Strategic Planning and Alignment

  • In collaboration with the GM and the Spain/Portugal HUB Leadership Team: responsible for governance, monitoring the execution of strategy, and performance tracking.

  • Own core strategic planning process, HUB strategic action definition and execution on key internal and external events such as business reviews, annual planning, select cross-company global processes, etc.

  • Run effective leadership team meetings to facilitate input gathering, decision making and alignment on key topics. Act as ViiV Enhance champion for the region to enable better meetings and better decision-making.

High Performing Teams

  • Assist the GM in day-to-day responsibilities, direct the flow of information ensuring coordination of activity between organization and act as point of contact between HUB and the Business Operations & Process Excellence community at ViiV.

  • Lead the Insights & Analytics and Process Excellence teams, inspiring to continuously deliver, improve, and exceed results in a supportive and learning environment.

  • Define and lead a pragmatic and effective organizational change management approach

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master´s degree would be considered a plus (preferably in business administration, engineering, finance, or similar field)

  • Experience in an international setting, strategic project management, and/or consulting

  • Demonstrated experience in driving strategic outcomes and leading strategic initiatives with innovation mindset.

  • Proven ability to influence and inspire others leading change on a leadership team level.

  • Proven business acumen and ability to understand and contribute to organisational effectiveness

  • Experience or knowledge of digital and omnichannel environments and strategies.

  • Previous experience in agile methodologies, the ability to work in cross-functional teams, adaptability to rapid changes, and continuous value delivery will be highly valued.
